Tip of the Day
If you're a seller, don't be penny wise and
pound foolish. A friend of mine made an offer on a FSBO (for sale by
owner) house. The price was right at $500,000. She met with the
owners to iron out some details. During their talk, the wife/seller
told my friend that "under no circumstances" would they pay to have a
"termite inspection" done. This was done in a rude, dismissive way.
My friend said she'd think it over and left. The next day, my friend
looked at another house and made a contract offer on it. Following a
short, polite negotiation, the second contract was ratified at
$460,000. The sellers are paying for the termite inspection.
PermaTreat does them for $55. Hummmm, which selling couple were the
better negotiators? |
